Agentic engineering within built environment sector is one of the largest still unsolvable business opportunities. The value chain will be disrupted dramatically soon. Therefore, I am all in.
The tools that automate engineering execution are here. The question is who builds the layer that keeps engineering accountability at the centre.
When foundational AI models arrived, every profession asked the same question: what does this mean for us? In engineering, the first answers were borrowed from elsewhere. General AI chats offered advice. AI code-writing tools inspired talk of “vibe engineering.” FEM systems and BIM platforms began adding AI features at the edges. None of it was wrong, exactly. But none of it understood what engineering is: a chain of decisions, each one requiring judgement, each one carrying liability in the end.
That gap is where A.Engineer began. Born inside Tyréns Group in May 2025, it was built by engineers and AI professionals who understood that automating calculation work was not primarily a technical problem, it was a trust problem. Any output that reaches a client deliverable must be verifiable. The engineer must be able to stand behind it. A general-purpose model cannot offer that. A.Engineer was designed from the ground up to do exactly that, combining modern AI reasoning with a deterministic calculation layer that eliminates drift. The result is a platform that automates manual engineering work while keeping the engineer's judgement, verification, and accountability structurally intact.
Automating calculation work is not primarily a technical problem. It is a trust problem.
Adoption following the public launch in November 2025 confirmed what the founders suspected: demand was not for AI that replaced engineering thinking, but for AI that cleared the path to it. Tasks consuming three to four days compress to one to two hours. Parallel design scenarios, previously a luxury, become routine. The engineer stops executing and starts directing.
The next phase of A.Engineer is designed to function as the operating system for agentic engineering. Since April 2026, in collaboration with leading engineering companies, we have been building a unified environment where engineers, AI agents, third-party systems, regulation, and project data connect into a single, coherent workflow. A layer that sits at the centre of how engineering work gets done – through which instructions flow out and verified results flow back. The human engineer remains the orchestrator: setting the brief, interrogating the outputs, approving the deliverables, carrying the accountability no agent can assume.
The profession is not disappearing. It is being clarified and stripped of the manual and repetitive, returned to the essential.
As we simply put it: Intelligence built for engineering. Verified by you.

After practicing 12+ years as a charted Senior Structural Engineer in multiple international projects, I decided to devote my time to scale parametric computational design. With A.Engineer, first time in the history we can make it happen.
Tyréns is an international consulting group with roots in Sweden and a clear ambition: to contribute to a more sustainable society through knowledge, innovation and collaboration. We are consultants in the built environment, where technology, design and sustainable development come together to create solutions that make a real difference for people, cities and future generations.
